60-day deadline for grain deal from Lavrov
Speaking at the press conference held after his meeting with Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu in Ankara, Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov announced that the Grain Corridor Agreement could be concluded within 60 days if Russia’s shipment of grain and food products is not normalized.
While criticizing the West’s attitude towards Russia, Lavrov said, “They don’t want to see a competitor in the international arena. They engage in various activities against countries that carry out independent and sovereign policies. When they defeat Russia, it will be China’s turn.” used the phrases.
Noting that Russia does not refrain from talks on the Ukraine war, Lavrov said, “But these can only be carried out if our legitimate interests and sensitivities are taken into account.” said.
In his speech, in which he said that the war continues to harm the whole world, Çavuşoğlu noted that he once again conveyed Turkey’s expectations for ending the war through negotiations.
Çavuşoğlu also reiterated Turkey’s position on removing obstacles to the export of Russian grain and fertilizer under the Grain Corridor.
