70-year-old American writer Marianne Williamson has officially announced her candidacy for the 2024 presidential election.
Saying that the country is currently struggling with many difficulties, Williamson criticized the current economic order, health system and the current status quo in Washington.
“I feel that for four decades, dealing with the traumas of thousands of people has given me a unique perspective on what it takes to help restore America,” Williamson said in a written statement on his official website. Williamson noted that he is a candidate for the presidency to close the phase where the USA has moved away from values and the right path and to make a fresh start.
It was in 2020
Williamson, the author of best-selling books such as “The Shadow Effect”, “Return to Love”, “Change”, “A Year of Miracles”, was also a candidate for the 2020 presidential election. Williamson, who said he pursued a “politics of love”, withdrew from the race before the primary elections due to problems with campaign donations and not getting enough support.
Williamson was the first to officially announce his candidacy from the Democratic Party. Democratic President Joe Biden has said he “intends to run” in the election, but has yet to make an official announcement.
