BP: Uncertain when oil export from Ceyhan will start

After the earthquakes on Monday, all piers in the port, where approximately 1 million barrels of oil are transferred a day, were closed due to security checks.

Mostly Azeri oil is transported to Ceyhan via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline. About 615,000 barrels of oil a day were exported through the pipeline last month, according to Bloomberg data.

The export of Iraqi oil, which reached the port through a separate pipeline, started on Tuesday. Iraq sends approximately 450 thousand barrels of oil per day to Ceyhan.

According to an official close to the subject, Iraq’s monthly exports from Ceyhan will not be affected by the situation.
BP has a 30.1% stake in BTC.

Other shareholders of BTC are Socar, Mol Nyrt and Eni SpA.
