Blinken came to Turkey’s Washington Embassy in the morning to offer condolences for those who lost their lives in the earthquakes with a magnitude of 7.7 and 7.6, the epicenter of which was in the Pazarcık and Elbistan districts of Kahramanmaraş and affecting 10 provinces in total.
Welcomed by Ambassador Hasan Murat Mercan, Blinken expressed his condolences to Mercan.
Blinken, who later signed the condolence book created at the Embassy, wrote, “On behalf of myself and the American people, I convey my condolences to the people of Turkey for the great loss they have suffered. The United States stands by our ally and friend Turkey today and in the future. Together, we will rebuild it.” made statements.
Answering the questions of the journalists on the way out, Blinken said, “Many people lost their lives, lives were shaken, but I can say that the USA is in strong solidarity with Turkey.
