Election messages from the outside world – Bloomberg HT

Various evaluations began to come from the outside world regarding the presidential and parliamentary elections, the final results of which have not yet been announced.

Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Union (EU) Commission, said that they closely followed the elections held in Turkey, that the high turnout was a great achievement and that they expected to see what the second round would bring.

Von der Leyen, at a press conference with the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, answered the question about his assessment of the Presidential and 28th Term Parliamentary Elections in Turkey.

Stating that Turkey is an important partner for them, von der Leyen used the following expressions:

“The huge turnout in these elections is really good news because it shows that the Turkish people are committed to using their democratic rights to go and vote, and that they value democratic institutions. This is the big win of yesterday’s elections. The elections are still going on. Now we need to see the second round. Now we need to see the second round. “We’re following up. EU Council President Michel, on the other hand, said that he appreciated Turkish citizens for the high turnout in the election.

Pointing to the importance of the election process in democracies, Michel stated that they will follow the outcome of this process.

Peskov: We look forward to continued cooperation in any case

Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitriy Peskov stated that they follow the elections in Turkey with interest due to the cooperation between Russia and Turkey in many fields and said, “We respect and will respect the choice of the Turkish people. However, we expect our cooperation to continue, deepen and expand in any case.”

Pointing out that Turkey and Russia carry out extensive cooperation in many fields, especially in the economy, Peskov said, “We are united with Turkey in a wide range of mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields such as energy, tourism, trade, agriculture and road transport.”

Stating that they follow the news about the elections from Turkey with great interest, Peskov said, “Turkey is a strong, sovereign country and of course a country that can ensure transparent and democratic elections and prevent all kinds of illegal acts.”

Iran: High turnout in elections is a victory for democracy

In a written statement, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nasser Kenani said, “The high participation of the people of the Republic of Turkey and the successful holding of the elections are an indication of the victory of democracy in the neighboring Muslim country. We congratulate the people of Turkey, the organizers of the elections, the leaders and political parties for this victory and wish them good luck. ‘ he said.
