Erdogan: Israeli gas will be discussed during Netanyahu visit

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made statements on his return from his visit to Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.

Commenting on the comments made by the Israeli media about Netanyahu’s visit in recent days and that Israeli natural gas could be supplied from the Mediterranean to Europe via Turkey, Erdogan said, “The healthiest project here is to get the natural gas to Europe via Turkey. Otherwise, the costs of natural gas delivery from the Mediterranean to Europe are too high. But when it comes from Turkey, we will have entered a profitable process in terms of using this, as Turkey.

“Now, with this step we will take, we are establishing contact with Netanyahu for the first time. My hope is that this development will be the beginning of a much warmer period in Turkey-Israel relations,” Erdogan said.

Exorbitant rent precaution

Stating that he will do whatever is necessary to stop the high rent increases, President Erdoğan said, “We will also apply penalties if necessary to stop the exorbitant rent increase and housing prices.” “Some countries charge high taxes on vacant houses, can it be in Turkey as well?” Upon the question, Erdogan said that it is a work of the ministry and that they will definitely be addressed.

“We will ensure the continuation of the grain initiative”

Stating that they will conduct telephone diplomacy first, Erdogan said, “We will meet with Putin in detail if his visit takes place in August. I believe that we will ensure the continuation of the Black Sea Grain Initiative. I believe that we will talk with Mr. Putin in detail and ensure its continuation. Western countries should take action regarding Putin’s expectations.”

“We will evaluate the pensions at the end of the year”

Regarding pensions, Erdogan said, “We have to re-evaluate the pensioners as of the end of the year.”
