According to the statement made by Baykar, Bayraktar Akıncı TİHAs, which were developed nationally and originally by Baykar within the scope of Bayraktar Akıncı Project, carried out under the leadership of the Presidency of Defense Industries, will enter the inventory of the Saudi Arabian Army. Within the scope of the agreement, Baykar will also provide training, technical support and logistics services.
Bayraktar Akıncı TİHAs will serve in the inventory of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Air and Naval Forces Command. With the comprehensive agreement, cooperation will be made on technology transfer and joint production in order to advance the high technology development capability of the two countries in the future.
The signing ceremony was held after the meetings of the delegations of the two countries in Jeddah. The agreement was signed in the presence of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, who attended the ceremony.
The cooperation agreement between Baykar and the Ministry of Defense of Saudi Arabia was signed by Baykar General Manager Haluk Bayraktar and Saudi Arabian Deputy Minister of Defense Halid Bin Hüseyin El Bayari.
It has contracts with NATO AND EU countries
Baykar started 2023 with the export contract for Bayraktar TB2 worth 370 million dollars, with the agreement he signed with the Kuwait Ministry of Defense. With the export to Romania, Bayraktar TB2 SİHAs entered the inventory of 4 NATO member countries and 2 EU member countries.
Baykar, whose export rate was 99.3 percent in the contracts signed in 2022, realized an export of 1.18 billion dollars.
Baykar, which is the biggest exporter of the defense and aerospace industry, has a turnover of 1.4 billion dollars in 2022. Export agreements have been signed with 30 countries for Bayraktar TB2 SİHA and with 6 countries for Bayraktar Akıncı TİHA.
