France plans to increase military spending to 413 billion euros

France wants to increase its military spending to 413 billion euros in 2024-2030.

In the statement made after the meeting of the Council of Ministers held at the Elysee Palace, it was stated that the draft law, which envisages increasing military expenditures to 413 billion euros between 2024 and 2030, was discussed.

French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu stated that within the scope of the bill, intelligence expenditures will be increased by 60 percent.

Lecornu stated that the bill will be discussed in the Defense Committee of the Parliament tomorrow and then in the General Assembly in mid-May.

Local media reported that 13 billion euros of the said budget would be allocated for military support to Ukraine.

The budget allocated by France for military expenditures in the period of 2019-2025 was 295 billion euros.
