International Energy Agency President Fatih Birol will address the leaders at the G7 Summit, which brings together the leaders of the world’s largest economies in Hiroshima, Japan.
Birol will give important messages to the leaders of the G7 regarding the increasing importance of energy security in the light of changing geopolitical balances and the steps to be taken to accelerate the clean energy transformation.
Birol, who attended the summit at the invitation of Japan’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, who is chairing the G7 this year, will explain how the clean energy transformation can be accelerated in order to limit the global temperature rise to 1.5 degrees while ensuring energy security.
The International Energy Agency has made significant contributions to the G7’s energy and climate agenda in recent years.
This year, the International Energy Agency, which provides analyzes on various topics such as renewable energy, energy efficiency, hydrogen, steel and natural gas, will also take an active role in the implementation of the five-point plan for the safe supply of critical minerals.
