IMECE satellite launched into space – Bloomberg HT

IMECE, Turkey’s first domestic and national high-resolution imaging satellite, designed and developed by TÜBİTAK UZAY, was launched into orbit from Vandenberg Space Force Base in the USA.

The IMECE satellite, the launch of which was delayed 3 times before, was launched into orbit from Vandenberg Space Force Base in the USA at 09.47.

IMECE was planned to be launched from Vandenberg Space Force Base yesterday, but was delayed once again 27 seconds before launch due to adverse weather conditions.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, “IMECE satellite, image resolution, communication speed and maneuverability will be Turkey’s most advanced earth observation satellite,” he said.

will serve for 5 years

IMECE, which will be located in an orbit synchronized with the sun at an altitude of 680 kilometers, will serve the country in many areas such as target identification, detection, natural disasters, agricultural applications during its design mission life of 5 years. The satellite will be able to obtain images from anywhere in the world.

Along with IMECE, imaging satellite AKUP, also developed by TÜBİTAK UZAY, imaging satellite KILIÇSAT produced in cooperation with ASELSAN and GÜMÜŞ, internet of things and imaging satellite CONNECTA T2.1 cube satellites produced by PLAN-S company will also be launched into space in the same rocket.
