Penalty to automotive companies from the Ministry of Commerce

The Ministry of Commerce announced that it has imposed an administrative fine of more than 15 million liras as a result of the inspections it carried out within the scope of the regulation of 5 months and 6 thousand kilometers.

In the statement made by the Ministry, it was stated that in January 2023, inspections were carried out by our Ministry within the scope of the marketing and sales restriction, known as the 6-month and 6 thousand kilometer regulation in the public, before the authorized automobile dealers and auto galleries engaged in the second-hand motor land vehicle trade.

As a result of the inspections, it was determined that an administrative fine of 15 million 905 thousand lira was imposed on 36 enterprises in total, including Istanbul, Izmir, Ankara, Samsun, Kayseri, Bursa, Konya, Erzurum, Kocaeli, Balıkesir, Antalya, Antalya, Sakarya, Eskişehir, Denizli and Manisa. specified.

Application valid until 1 July

In the statement, which stated that the inspections will continue, it was stated that businesses that violate the practice will be penalized.

According to the regulation made on 16 August 2022 in the Regulation on the Trade of Second-Hand Motor Vehicles, the marketing or sale of automobiles and off-road vehicles within the scope of commercial activity can only be carried out on the condition that 6 months and 6 thousand kilometers have passed from the first registration date of these vehicles. The application will be valid until 1 July 2023.
