Russian President Vladimir Putin, at a meeting with Russian agricultural sector officials, said that last year, a record harvest was achieved in his country.
Pointing out that a total of 158 million tons of grain was harvested in 2022, Putin said, “This is the first harvest level in our modern history.”
Explaining that Russia continues its grain exports despite the sanctions, Putin said, “Despite the obstacles in foreign trade, Russia managed to increase its agricultural product exports to 41.6 billion dollars last year. We expect our grain exports to be around 55-60 million tons this year.”
With a 19 percent share in the global grain market, Russia is the world’s largest grain exporter.
