Seven&i became the first Japanese retailer with annual sales exceeding 10 trillion yen

The Japanese firm announced that its sales on March 1, 2022 and February 28, 2023 increased by 35 percent compared to the previous year to 11.8 trillion yen ($90 billion).

Thus, the company became the first Japanese retailer to exceed 10 trillion yen in annual sales, with record sales.

In the given period, the net profit of the Japanese company increased by 33.3 percent to 280.9 billion yen ($2.12 billion).

Increasing overseas sales with the acquisition of the US-based Speedway chain store in 2021 reflected positively on the company’s annual sales record.

Founded in 1920 under the name Ito Yokado, Tokyo-based Seven & i company is among the top 20 retail companies in the world.
