100 permanent prefabricated houses completed by Ciner Group in 65 days are delivered to earthquake victims. In addition to white goods, sofa sets, bed linen, the houses were built with refrigerators full so that you can enter the house and cook.

Hatay Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Lütfü Savaş, Defne District Governor Buğra Karadağ, AFAD Vice President Önder Bozkurt and Ciner Yayın Holding Chairman Kenan Tekdağ and Ciner Group CEO Gürsel Usta attended the delivery ceremony of the houses.

“Such a pain should never happen again”

Kenan Tekdağ, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ciner Yayın Holding, who spoke at the ceremony, said, “There are indeed some pains that no words can express. The earthquake disaster we experienced was such a pain. We felt this pain as a nation. Starting from the first day, our nation did its best to be a cure when the pain became dark. Each person made an effort to do something within his own means. Ciner Group has humbly worked to make this contribution. We are proud of that. I would like to thank all public officials who contributed, supported and used their authority to facilitate this work. This kind of pain should never happen again,” he said.

“Priority is the mothers who lost their spouses”

Speaking at the ceremony, Ciner Group CEO Gürsel Usta said, “As Ciner Group, we have always tried to help with the local governments where our factories are located and the NGOs we are affiliated with.
We knew that we needed to provide permanent aid here and it had to be a touchstone. We completed permanent prefabricated houses in two months. We demanded that the houses be given primarily to mothers with children and disabled people who lost their spouses in this earthquake,” he said.

Defne District Governor Buğra Karadağ pointed out that very important steps were taken in 3 months. Karadağ said, “I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the delivery of the prefabricated houses we made today and the entire Ciner family. We chose the families to be delivered very carefully,” he said.

AFAD Vice President Önder Bozkurt said, “More than 850 thousand tents have been set up since the first day of the earthquake. More than 250 thousand were distributed in central districts of Hatay. More than 102 thousand 500 containers were shipped to the region. More than 52 thousand came to Hatay. More than 73 thousand of our families live in tent cities. It is our goal to reunite our families with the construction of permanent residences as soon as possible. The entitlement process will begin in the coming days. We heal the wounds of the disaster with your support. In this organization, which was followed closely by Ciner Group, a total of 100 houses started to be delivered to families. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the entire Ciner Group.”
