UAE-Türkiye Business Forum kicks off with a call to “increase investments”

The third of the business forums planned to be implemented by the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEİK) within the scope of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s Gulf tour covering Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) started at the Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Abu Dhabi.

At the business forum, many business people from the two countries came together from many sectors, especially real estate, contracting, industry, agriculture, food, informatics and banking.

Speaking at the opening of the event, DEİK Turkey-UAE Business Council Chairman Öz said that the two countries have started cooperation with an incredible momentum in the last 2 years, both within the scope of investment and commercial activities.

Öz said, “The UAE has almost entered the top 5 in our country with an incredible momentum thanks to the investments it has made in the last 2 years in areas such as banking, ports, logistics, health and food in Turkey.” said.

“It’s time to establish cooperation with third countries”

Tevfik Öz stated that Turks have reached a serious business volume in different sectors in all emirates of the UAE and continued his words as follows:

“Here, besides the investment and commercial activities between the two countries, we want to expand our cooperation in third countries together with our friends, brothers and companies from the UAE. With the trade activities and experiences that Turkish companies have developed in the Middle East and Gulf countries, as well as in African countries in the last 10 years, it is time for us to cooperate with UAE companies.

Öz stated that today, within the scope of President Erdogan’s visit, very important agreements will be signed with the contributions of UAE President Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Expressing that the agreements to be made will reveal the chance for the private sectors of the two countries to establish closer and warmer relations with each other, Öz thanked the leaders of the two countries for their contributions. “Because this has created a relationship that can pave the way for the cultural and commercial activities of the people of the two countries in a very sincere way,” Öz said. said.

“We can cooperate in many sectors”

Abdullah Al Hameli, Chairman of the UAE-Turkey Business Council, said that there is a long history between the two countries, that they have the same religious beliefs and the same cultural habits.

Stating that President Erdogan and Al Nahyan met 4 times in the last two years and that the leaders attach great importance to the relations between the countries, Hameli said that they should understand each other more.

Stating that Turkey’s exports to the UAE have accelerated in recent years and have risen to an important point, Hameli said, “We see how high investments are made by UAE companies in Turkey. There is a high potential between the two countries. We can cooperate in fields such as health, e-commerce, green economy, petrochemistry, robotics, innovation, industry and infrastructure. When our inspiration and synergy come together, we can realize very different innovations.” he said.

Pointing to the importance of cooperation between the two countries, Hameli emphasized that this is important for their future.

Investment opportunities between the two countries were explained

After the opening speeches, investment opportunities in the two countries were explained to the participants with presentations.

Rahim Albayrak from the Presidential Investment Office made a presentation titled “Investment Opportunities in Turkey”, while Rashed Al Teneiji, Director of the UAE International Business Development and Trade Development Department, shared the UAE’s investment ecosystem.
