Urban transformation statement from the Minister Institution
Murat Kurum, Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, said, “As of today, 66 thousand buildings have already applied for 379 thousand independent sections in Istanbul. 1723 buildings in Pendik have applied within this scope. Hopefully, all together within 1 month, we will have 1.5 million residences. We will receive the application, and we will finish this transformation hand in hand with our citizens in 5 years.”
Minister Kurum said that the construction works of 125 thousand houses, which were started after the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes on 6 February, are continuing rapidly.
The institution stated that in the first stage, they will build 319 thousand residences and a total of 650 thousand residences within a year.
Urban transformation studies
Minister Kurum pointed out that in 2012, “Urban transformation all over Turkey” was the first digging in Gaziosmanpaşa.
Stating that they have now started the campaigns “The great transformation of 1.5 million residences in Istanbul” and “Half of us”, the Institution stated that they have determined 2 reserve areas, 500 thousand on the Anatolian Side and 500 thousand on the European Side, and the remaining 500 thousand residences are in place. and that they would renovate 1.5 million risky residences in the city by transforming them within the framework of the consent of the citizens.
Stating that in the first year, they will quickly build 300 thousand houses, of which 200 thousand are on-site and 100 thousand in the reserve area, the institution stated that the state will cover half of the cost, and the remaining amount will be paid by the citizens for 2+1 apartments in 10 years in installments starting from 5 thousand 625 liras per month.
